DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: POSITION SUMMARY: The Stewardship & Engagement Manager manages a portfolio of projects with an emphasis on stewardship of managed donors – creating, maintaining, and tracking individual plans and executing customized outreach on behalf Holt leadership and in collaboration with Gift Officers on the Relational Development Team (RDT). The Stewardship & Engagement Manager partners with RDT staff to acknowledge and recognize donors which includes tracking, assigning, writing, and dispatching correspondence that supports fundraising efforts and cultivates long-term donor loyalty and commitment. This position manages multiple and competing priorities in the dynamic RDT environment. Successful candidates will be accomplished project managers who can think critically and creatively, adeptly collaborate with colleagues, and navigate shifting priorities. JOB DESCRIPTION: Key Responsibilities: Plan and execute donor stewardship, engagement, and recognition initiatives, and identify opportunities to further connect and engage donors with Holt’s domestic and international work. Produce strategic, high-quality, donor-centered stewardship pieces that illustrate the impact of giving and inspire continued support, including donor impact reports, Presidential Stewardship letters, and endowment reports. Work with RDT Gift Officers to create, execute, and monitor individual stewardship plans to ensure managed donors are stewarded in a timely and appropriate manner, including routine correspondence, holiday and birthday cards, special campaigns, etc. Contribute to the planning and execution of 5-6 engagement events (both virtual and in-person) per year that strengthen donor relationships. Ensure information and activity is accurately tracked and maintained in the CRM. Serve as a thought partner to RDT colleagues, offering creative and strategic input on donor touchpoints as well as personalized donor engagement strategies for managed donors to strengthen relationships, recognize contributions, and enhance long-term stewardship strategies. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB-EVALUATION DOCUMENTATIONKNOWLEDGE: Bachelor’s degree OR appropriate combination of education and experience. 2 years of development, stewardship, marketing, sales, or equivalent experience, preferably in a higher education or non-profit environment. Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines. Must be able to plan and manage multiple projects, complete them under tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities. Experience handling confidential materials and information. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and with sensitivity to internal and external audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Canva, and CRM databases (e.g. Blackbaud, Salesforce, etc.). Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the importance of stewardship and donor relations as an organization-wide effort. Ability to work collaboratively across teams, including coordination of projects and management of deliverables. Preferred: Event planning (virtual or in-person) experience. Experience with video messaging platforms such as BombBomb, ThankView, or equivalents. Experience developing, launching, and maintaining Giving Societies. Experience engaging and leveraging affinity groups around philanthropy, volunteering, advocacy, and/or international issues. Basic graphic design and/or visual storytelling skills.
