QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the role of Stewardship Engagement Officer, you must be an organized and strategic relationship-builder with experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and event coordination, and whose profile includes:

  • University degree in communications, marketing, or related discipline, along with three to five (3-5) years’ experience in fundraising. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation preferred.
  • Experience in alumni affairs or fundraising is required.
  • Experience in event coordination and planning is required, including event evaluations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • End-user Database experience (query and entry).
  • Sound judgement, tact, diplomacy, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially written communication.
  • Experience in program development and strategic planning.
  • Experience in managing volunteers and student employees (recruitment, training, retention and support, recognition).
  • Previous project management experience, including the development of critical paths.
  • Previous experience developing donor relations materials and communications would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Direct mass donor communication and engagement, including the Impact of Giving report and donor newsletters.
· Develop and execute an annual stewardship engagement program, collaborating on initiatives like National Philanthropy Day and Giving Tuesday.
· Oversee and deliver the Loyal Donor program and university-wide award donor reporting.
· Play a key role in donor appreciation events and annual endowment reporting.
· Coordinate gift announcements, room namings, facility openings, and smaller functions.
· Produce acknowledgement materials and support internal processes to ensure donors are informed and recognized.
· Utilize project management, organizational, writing, event management, and communication skills to engage donors and key stakeholders.
· Adapt to trends by focusing on personal interaction and targeted communications to boost engagement and giving.
