SCHOOL DESCRIPTION:

The Chelsea Opportunity Academy is a place where students who have struggled to be successful in traditional schools flourish. Through flexible scheduling, blended learning and individualized support, students make continual progress towards earning a high school diploma by demonstrating the skills to take on increasingly complex challenges. Student’s competing priorities outside of school are valued, respected and leveraged as learning experiences for school credit. They are active participants and have a voice in all aspects of school design, policy, and operations. Students, staff, and adult mentors form lasting relationships as they work together to build an effective and meaningful plan in preparation for college, career and life after high school.

Qualifications: The candidate has a demonstrated history of working with social media, Google.Drive, Canva, and other technologies. In addition, the social media point person must have:

  • Some understanding of written Spanish, and have the tools necessary to proofread written Spanish.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Have an understanding of the creative design process.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the COA logo and color scheme.
  • Understand the importance of connecting with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Strategies for community outreach and building increased participation in school events..
  • Photography skills preferred

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Produce a minimum of twice-weekly social media posts that highlight
  • COA school culture, school events, and major announcements.
  • Creation of a quarterly COA newsletter for COA stakeholders.
  • Contribute to superintendent updates weekly
