Description
We are starting our recruitment process early for this position to ensure a strong candidate pool, as the Stock Controller role is intended to commence in 2026. Summary: The role ensures stock accuracy, minimizes discrepancies, and supports efficient inventory operations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in warehouse stock management, with a solid understanding of stock control processes within food service equipment industry. Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor Location: Stikland, Cape Town Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 08:00-16:30 – Friday 08:00-16:00 Salary: Market related and commensurate with experience Responsibilities: Stock Administration: Label and package stock. Conduct weekly stock checks and full stock counts every 4 months (quarterly) and ensure inventory accuracy. Create a stock check procedure/system to ensure weekly stock counts are accurate. Maintain stock control procedures or develop procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software/system. Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for stock replenishment Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies Manage and report information on faulty stock or returned stock/products Ensure storage areas are kept clean, tidy, and compliant with safety standards. Team support: Work closely with sales, marketing and procurement teams and inform them of stock that seems to not be selling in order for them to work out strategies to improve sales. Work with the buying/procurement team to ensure accurate forecasting of sales trends and product demand. Coordinate with the buying/procurement team to ensure stock levels are sufficient to meet demand. Maintain good relationships with any suppliers or other parties involved in the stock of the business.
