Job Title: Stock/Inventory Clerk Reports to: General Manager FSLA Exemption: Non-exempt Department: Quick Serve Restaurants - SUBWAY Summary: Assists the management team with managing the store’s inventory of food and supplies. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned. Retrieves shipments from the dock area, utilizing a pallet truck or other skid/pallet moving equipment. Examines incoming shipments for discrepancies and damaged goods. Accurately records shipments in the inventory system and submits shipping documents to General Manager. Places shipment in the proper storage areas. Utilizes First In First Out (FIFO) method for food storage (food rotation). Reports any inventory needs/problems and/or waste to management. Checks products in the sandwich unit area and restock items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift. Records temperatures on the daily logs. Assists with cleaning the storage and food prep areas. As needed, performs all of the duties of a Sandwich Artist®. Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas, and procedures as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual. Maintains professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual. Completes University of SUBWAY® courses and safety training as directed. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); previous food service industry and/or Quick Serve Restaurant (QSR) experience preferred. Specialized Training and Other Requirements: Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Manager certification within two weeks of hire, must complete the training required by the contract and/or franchisor, and must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if the contract requires. Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Math Ability: The ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is required. Must be able to perform basic math calculations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and develop solutions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables (understand user guides for equipment). Responsibilities
This role involves assisting management with store inventory by retrieving, inspecting, and accurately recording incoming food and supply shipments using proper equipment and FIFO rotation methods. The clerk also maintains stock levels, records temperatures, assists with cleaning, and may perform Sandwich Artist duties as needed.
