We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Cashier/Stocker to join our team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling transactions and maintaining stock levels on the sales floor. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and possess strong communication skills.

SKILLS

• Proficient in cashiering with experience using POS systems.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on building rapport with customers.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional phone etiquette.
• Experience in merchandising and retail sales, particularly within a grocery store setting.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for cash handling and retail math tasks.
• Supervising experience is a plus, as well as bilingual abilities to assist diverse customer bases.

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, product selection, and resolving any issues.
• Stock shelves and ensure that merchandise is displayed attractively and organized according to store standards.
• Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier area and sales floor.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
• Upsell products to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales opportunities.
• Utilize basic math skills for cash handling, including making change and balancing cash drawers at the end of shifts.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work environment.
