The A Side: A Day in The Life
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Stockroom Supervisor to manage stock operations at our Abbey Road shop. This role involves overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of stock across three on-site stockrooms and two off-site storage units (Space Station).
The ideal candidate will ensure efficient stockroom organization, support retail operations, and manage deliveries with a keen focus on accuracy, quality control, and safety. The Stockroom Supervisor will also be responsible for training the team in heavy lifting and general health & safety procedures.
The B Side: Skills & Experience

Stockroom Management

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and accessible stockroom to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Optimise stockroom layout based on sales trends and retail needs.
  • Manage stock replenishment, liaising with the Store Manager to balance stock between storage and the shop floor.
  • Ensure consumables (e.g., swing tags, tape, markers, box cutters) are sufficiently stocked by coordinating with the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Ensure the availability of packaging materials for outgoing shipments.

Receiving and Processing Deliveries

  • Collect and oversee the delivery process for the retail department.
  • Verify dispatch labels to track missing or undelivered boxes.
  • Inspect incoming stock for visible damages and document any issues.
  • Match deliveries against the Abbey Road Order Tracker and confirm item counts.
  • Perform quality control on received stock and document any faulty or damaged items.
  • Report all stock discrepancies, including missing, faulty, or damaged stock, to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Book-in stock using the PO reference number via the scanning system.
  • Inform the Supply Chain Manager or Buyer about new product arrivals to facilitate quality checks and system updates.
  • Prepare daily delivery reports listing received items and highlighting any discrepancies.

Off-Site Storage Management (Space Station)

  • Monitor stock levels and liaise with the Store Manager for weekly restocking.
  • Create and maintain a replenishment list based on stock levels.
  • Arrange van bookings for stock transfers.
  • Keep the Space Station inventory spreadsheet up to date.
  • Send weekly reports detailing incoming and outgoing stock.
  • Monitor carrier bag stock and alert the Store Manager when supplies are low.
  • Maintain a clean and organised storage space, ensuring accessibility and safety.
  • Plan and coordinate the removal of pallets and waste in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager.

E-Commerce Fulfilment

  • Pick stock based on provided picking lists.
  • Apply barcodes to products using in-house printed labels.
  • Securely package items for shipment.
  • Attach necessary transfer documents and dispatch labels as provided by the Supply Chain Manager.

Person Specification

  • Experience in stockroom or warehouse supervision, ideally in a retail environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting and physical work.
  • Confident using Excel and stock management systems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to take ownership, solve problems, and improve processes.
