ESSENTIAL EXISTING SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
· Understanding of behaviour change techniques
· IT literate and able to confidently use online methods of communication. You will also need to have a good eye for detail, and you will be accurate with data input and reporting
· Experience of delivering stop smoking health interventions
· Customer facing experience – ideally in health setting or service
· Experience of using databases or digital systems to record data
· You need to be a people person and thrive on engaging people including clients and stakeholders/partners.
Full training for all roles will be provided along with a programme of continued professional development. As this post is community-based, post holders will need to be able to independently travel across Sandwell area.

THE ROLE
We are looking for people to work as part of a small highly skilled and passionate team delivering a Stop Smoking Service, operating across Sandwell to support local residents to quit smoking through a 3-tiered approach service.
The role is ideally suited to people with strong communication skills and those who are confident delivering stop smoking support, including carrying out initial assessments and interventions using proven behaviour change techniques in line with national guidelines.
You will have a wide and varied caseload and will need to be able to prioritise multiple clients’ needs via multiple channels including in community settings, workplaces and virtually using digital media.
You role will involve community engagement in promoting the service and the work we do.
This is a Full-time role. Core hours are Monday – Sunday 08:30am – 7pm. Flexible hours are required to meet the needs of the service including evening/weekend work in agreement with the line manager. You will work 37.5 hours in total per week unless overtime is agreed.
You will be required to drive and have access to a car.
KEY ELEMENTS OF THE DAY-TO-DAY ROLE:
· Contribute to the assessment of clients for suitability for the service and eligibility for the right tier of support
· To carry out CO testing using equipment provided
· To assess nicotine dependence and readiness to quit using the Fagerstrom test
· To support the client in making the best decision on pharmacotherapy - Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products and Champix under a local PGD
· Provide pharmacotherapy via a voucher scheme/direct supply
· Ensure appropriate records are kept for all contacts with the service via the service CRM
· Follow up and support clients to four week and 12-week quits
· Support clients who fail in their attempt to re-engage with the service and make subsequent attempts.
· Complete all service paperwork in a timely manner in line with agreed protocols.
You will need to be an independent self-starter, flexible and driven by a desire to help people to positively change their lifestyle behaviours.
You will be experienced in the facilitation of individual sessions as well as group sessions.
You will manage your diary well and coordinate, travel, face to face appointments and home or office working.
You will live in the Sandwell area.
