Storage & Database DevOps Engineer – Internationalisation Location: Singapore Function: DevOps / Infrastructure Engineering / Database Platform About the Role Our client is a globally expanding consumer internet platform with hundreds of millions of users and a rapidly growing international footprint. As part of its global infrastructure build-out, the company is investing heavily in next-generation storage and database platforms to support high-concurrency, data-intensive workloads across regions. This role sits at the core of designing and scaling high-performance, highly available, and globally distributed data infrastructure, enabling the platform to operate seamlessly across international markets. Key Responsibilities - Product Solution Design (Storage & Database Systems) - Deeply understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. - Lead the design of high-availability, high-performance, and scalable storage/database architectures. - Work across multiple database technologies, including Redis, MySQL, TiDB, and MongoDB. - Drive deep integration between business needs and storage/database infrastructure. - Platform Development & DevOps Optimisation - Lead DevOps efficiency initiatives for storage/database systems. - Build and enhance capabilities such as automated resource provisioning and deployment, intelligent monitoring systems, and self-healing/automated recovery mechanisms. - Drive the organisation toward modern DevOps practices and platform-based infrastructure operations. - Cross-Functional Project Delivery - Act as the technical owner/project lead for major cross-functional initiatives. - Coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders. - Define project plans and technical strategies. - Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of critical infrastructure projects. - Technology Research & Innovation - Track emerging trends and innovations in storage and database technologies. - Evaluate applicability of new technologies within business scenarios. - Lead technical research initiatives and Proof of Concept (PoC) validation. - Provide forward-looking recommendations for the company’s infrastructure roadmap. - Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing - Work closely with business teams and application engineering teams. - Provide technical consulting and support for storage/database-related challenges. - Organise internal technical training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives. - Elevate overall team technical capabilities. Requirements - Storage & Database Expertise- Strong hands-on experience with at least one or more of the following: Redis/Tair, MySQL, TiDB, MongoDB, S3-compatible object storage, Graph databases (e.g. Nebula). - Deep understanding of architecture principles, performance optimisation, transaction management, and high availability design. - Software Engineering Capability - Solid software development experience. - Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Go, or Java. - Experience building database management platforms, middleware systems, or related infrastructure systems preferred. - Business Understanding - Ability to quickly translate business requirements into technical solutions. - Experience applying storage/database technologies across multiple industries preferred. - Project Management Capability - Proven ability to independently lead large-scale cross-functional projects. - Strong capability in project planning, timeline management, and resource coordination. - Track record of delivering complex initiatives successfully. - Communication & Collaboration - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and seniority levels. - Strong problem-solving capability and ability to work under pressure. - Fluent in English and Chinese. - Learning & Innovation Mindset - Strong interest in emerging technologies. - Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and innovate. - Open-source contributions or patents are a plus.
