• Friendly and approachable with good people skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small, busy team.
• Physically able to carry stock and stand for periods of time.
• Attention to detail — keeping displays neat and spotting when stock needs rotated.
• Willingness to learn and take direction.
• Previous retail, hospitality, or customer-facing experience is helpful, but not essential.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Store Assistant at Zucchini Cathcart, you’ll play a key part in the day-to-day running of the shop. You’ll help customers, keep displays full and attractive, and make sure the store is always clean, safe, and welcoming.
This role is hands-on and varied — you’ll be serving customers one minute, carrying stock the next, and making sure the produce is looking its best. We’re looking for someone reliable, friendly, and ready to learn.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide excellent customer service — greeting, serving, and assisting customers with a friendly and professional manner.
• Operate the till accurately and handle payments responsibly.
• Receive, check, and restock deliveries, ensuring produce is fresh and well-presented.
• Maintain clean and tidy shop standards, including displays, counters, and stockrooms.
• Follow health & safety and food handling guidelines (PPE, safe lifting, etc).
• Support colleagues and management with daily tasks and smooth store operations.
• Uphold Zucchini’s values as a local, family-run business with high standards.
