CONSTRUCTION STORE DESIGNER

Location: On Site - Corporate office, America Place, Jeffersonville, IN
Reports to: Director of Real Estate Construction and Facility Operations
A Construction Store Designer is responsible for designing and planning retail store layouts, ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and compliance with construction standards. This role blends architectural design, interior planning, and construction coordination to create engaging retail environments.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp).
  • Strong understanding of retail space planning, construction methods, and materials.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings.
  • Able to discern information in a critical and creative way
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • 3- 5 years of experience in retail store design or architectural drafting.
  • Previous work in commercial retail construction projects.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, sustainability practices, and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Design store layouts that align with brand identity and customer flow optimization.
  • Develop technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility standards, and zoning regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to refine designs.
  • Select materials, fixtures, and finishes that enhance store aesthetics and durability.
  • Conduct site visits to assess feasibility and oversee construction progress.
