Description
The Storekeeper will be responsible for the day-to-day management of inventory at assigned stores, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely issuance, proper storage, and compliance with company policies. The role supports operational efficiency across coffee farms, construction, marketing, and general administration by maintaining stock accuracy and safe custody of materials. Key Responsibilities Stock Handling & Documentation Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming goods against delivery notes and purchase orders. Record all receipts, issues, and stock balances in stock registers/ERP system. Prepare Goods Received Notes (GRNs), issue vouchers, and maintain filing for audit purposes. Ensure accurate labeling and proper storage of all items. Inventory Control Maintain optimal stock levels and notify Stores Manager of replenishment needs. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and report variances immediately. Apply FIFO/FEFO principles in issuing materials (especially coffee inputs and perishables). Monitor shelf life, expiries, and condition of stock to prevent wastage. Operational Support Ensure timely issuance of items to requesting departments (farm, construction, marketing, admin). Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of critical inputs. Track usage and provide consumption data for reporting and cost control. Assist in logistics of moving stock between central and field stores. Governance & Compliance Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and audit requirements. Maintain safe, clean, and secure storage facilities. Adhere to occupational health, safety, and environmental (EHS) standards. Support transparent and auditable stock management practices. Diploma or certificate in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field. 2–3 years of experience in stores or inventory management, preferably in agriculture, construction, or FMCG. Knowledge of inventory systems and ERP software is an advantage. Basic knowledge of stock control principles and warehousing practices.
