About the job
Store Manager | Foudys📍 Deansgate, Manchester🕐 Full-time, permanent
About FoudysFoudys is the home of women’s football.
We’re a growing football retailer and community built specifically around the women’s game, bringing together shirts, merchandise, players, clubs and fans from across the world of women’s football. Our Deansgate store is a huge part of that.
Spread across three floors in the heart of Manchester, it’s more than somewhere to buy a football shirt. It’s part shop, part clubhouse and part event space, somewhere fans can discover new products, come together for the biggest moments in the football calendar and feel part of the community surrounding the women’s game. And we’re looking for someone to take ownership of it.
About the roleWe’re hiring a Store Manager to lead the day-to-day running and future growth of our Manchester store. This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You’ll be responsible for everything you’d expect from running a brilliant retail space, commercial performance, customer experience, stock, merchandising, standards and your team.
But there’s another side to it too. We want our store to feel like it understands what is happening in football. Derby weekends. Champions League nights. WSL fixtures. Cup finals. International tournaments. New kit drops. Player appearances. You’ll think ahead about how we make the most of those moments, whether that’s changing the store layout, planning an event, bringing in additional stock, organising the team or working with a brand, club or creator on an activation.Ultimately, we want someone who looks at the store and thinks: this is mine to make brilliant.
- What you’ll be doingRunning the storeYou’ll take ownership of the smooth day-to-day operation of the store, making sure it is properly staffed, organised and ready to trade.
- You’ll oversee opening and closing, rotas, tills, health and safety, store standards and everything else that keeps a busy retail environment running properly.
- You’ll also make sure we’re prepared for the moments when Manchester gets particularly busy, from Saturday matchdays to major fixtures and tournament summers.
- Leading the teamYou’ll recruit, onboard, train and develop a brilliant store team, including seasonal and matchday cover.
- You’ll set the standard on the shop floor, create a positive and accountable environment and make sure everyone understands the products, the customers and what great service looks like at Foudys.
- You’ll also build rotas around how the store actually trades — looking at footfall, fixtures and seasonal peaks rather than simply following the same pattern every week.
- Driving commercial performanceYou’ll own the store’s performance and work towards agreed sales and commercial targets. That means understanding what’s selling, what isn’t, where customers are spending their time and where there are opportunities to improve conversion and average transaction value.
- You’ll use those insights to make decisions around merchandising, stock, staffing and the overall customer experience, and feed what you’re seeing back into the wider business.
- Stock & merchandisingYou’ll take responsibility for stock accuracy across the store, from deliveries and replenishment through to transfers, returns and stock takes.
- You’ll work closely with our wider team around upcoming product launches, kit drops and fixture peaks, making sure the right products are in the right place at the right time.
- You’ll also own the visual merchandising of the store, regularly refreshing the space around new products, campaigns, seasons and key moments in the football calendar.
- Events, matchdays & communityWe don't want Foudys Deansgate to feel like just another shop. You’ll build a rolling calendar around the moments that matter in women’s football and help turn the store into somewhere fans genuinely want to spend time. That could mean screenings, launches, player appearances, workshops, meet-ups or community events.
- You’ll plan and deliver these from start to finish, thinking about the concept, logistics, staffing, stock and customer experience, while working alongside our marketing team to get people through the door.
- Partnerships & activationsThere’s a big opportunity to make more of the physical space we have. You’ll proactively identify brands, clubs, creators and organisations that could collaborate with Foudys or activate within the store.
- Working alongside the wider Foudys team, you’ll help come up with ideas, approach potential partners and manage activations through to delivery.
