Description BASIC FUNCTION: To manage and operate a clean, well – run retail store in a profitable fashion for Goodwill. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Oversee the behavior of all hourly personnel, and be responsible for operating a safe, clean, and friendly place of business. To act in a leadership capacity demonstrating professional behavior and decision making, effective interpersonal communication skills, and setting an example for all Goodwill staff. Meet all store sales and production goals. Provide excellent customer service, including greeting and assisting customers and donors promptly. Responsible for developing annual budgets and store operating plans. On a regular basis read, understand and analyze store reports. Responsible for maintaining a store standard of cleanliness, organization, physical repair and safe place of business. Accurately complete the daily, weekly and monthly reports on time. Assist in maintaining daily and weekly cash handling and banking procedures. Maintain merchandising standards in stocking and re-sets, following sizing, categorizing and pricing guidelines. Maintain all backroom operating standards. Contribute as much as possible to the development and character of staff and perform written employee evaluations. Implement and enforce store procedures and Goodwill policy on a day-to-day basis. Perform administrative and clerical duties of store operations as necessary. Responsible for fulfilling all frontline staff duties as needed Adhere to established store hours and check security of building upon opening and closing. Ensure store safety and security. Ensure full completion of staff training and support opportunities for cross training for all staff. Follow Goodwill safety practices. Comply with Goodwill attendance and punctuality standards of behavior. Effectively communicate the mission of Goodwill to customers and donors.
