POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Liquor Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our store. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring smooth store functions, maximizing sales, and driving business growth while maintaining a high standard of customer service and compliance with all legal regulations relates to the sale of alcoholic bevarages. You will lead a team, manage inventory, and create promotional strategies to keep the store fresh and exciting for our customers.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma (or equivalent); additional certifications or business management education is a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
· Proven experience in retail, customer service, or business management.
· Strong background in inventory control and sales strategy.
· Leadership experience, including team management and staff development.
· Ability to handle conflict resolution and provide effective customer service in challenging situations.
· Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure everything runs smoothly.
· Track inventory levels, order new stock, conduct regular inventory counts, and address discrepancies. Maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer demand.
· Enforce all relevant regulations, including Saskatchewan liquor laws. Ensure proper ID checks and refusal of service to underage or intoxicated individuals.
· Develop and implement promotional activities to drive sales, such as in-store tastings, special events, and community partnerships.
· Hire, train, and manage staff. Provide coaching and mentorship to build a strong, customer-focused team.
· Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and foster a positive shopping experience.
· Work with store ownership to manage the financials, track expenses, and analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement.
· Negotiate pricing with suppliers, coordinate deliveries, and maintain positive relationships with distributors.
· Maintain a secure environment through discreet surveillance and adherence to safety protocols.
· Create efficient schedules to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours, including evenings and weekends.
