The Operations Manager oversees the daily overall operations of the retail location. This is a leadership position and is expected to effectively drive the overall performance of the store and store Operations through supervision, communication and coordination of team members. This position is a “working manager” position and is expected to be working the sales floor. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of service. Oversee day-to-day operations, assigning weekly performance goals and assuring their completion, while accomplishing your own goals. Recruit, onboard, train and strategically schedule employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives. Ensures sales team is strategically staffed and placed for enhanced productivity. Delegate responsibilities to employees to perform them while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values. Resolve internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of those involved. Maintain staff performance by appraising, coaching, counseling, and delivering disciplinary actions in partnership with the Human Resources team. Provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific selling and product knowledge. Manages workforce productivity, efficiency and process improvement projects and initiatives. Effectively communicates with company leadership team, on a regular basis. Required to learn, understand and enforce company policies, procedures and safety rules. Adheres to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules applicable to management-level employees. Skills: Exceptional supervisory and management skills; ability to effectively coach team members on store policies, protocols and expectations; leads by example and effectively drives the performance of team members. Strong management, delegation, and communication skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills needed. Effective problem solving and communication with customers and team members. Strong business acumen with an understanding of business implications of decisions, knowledge of market and competition and an orientation to profitability and established targets. Applies common sense understanding and reasoning to make appropriate, timely decisions. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require day, evening, weekends and may include overnight shifts and travel (as required) Proven track record of success, including a demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, management and co-workers. Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and cash wrap. Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store. Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-60 pounds. Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates, including 45 hours or more per week. Essential Qualifications: Previous retail management experience preferably in a supervisory role. Minimum of three years. High School Diploma Ability to read and interpret documents such as Employee handbook, manuals, policies and procedures. Ability to interact with customers and staff. Strong communication skills are a must. Must be able to work with minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions.
