REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in a warehouse or stores environment (manufacturing or automotive industry preferred)
  • High attention to detail with accurate record-keeping and stock handling
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
  • Competent with computers and inventory systems (ERP/MRP experience desirable)
  • Physically fit and able to lift and move materials as needed
  • Forklift licence (essential) – Counterbalance and/or Reach

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are looking for a reliable, detail-focused Stores Operative to join our fast-paced Operations team. This role is essential to ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the business. From receiving goods to supporting production, you will help maintain stock accuracy, support key departments, and contribute to the smooth running of the supply chain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately log all incoming materials and components
  • Maintain accurate stock records through routine cycle counts and system updates
  • Pick, pack, and issue materials to production efficiently and in line with schedule
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely (e.g., pallet trucks, forklifts – if licensed)
  • Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages promptly
  • Ensure all materials are correctly labelled and stored in designated locations
  • Support dispatch operations by preparing and packaging finished goods
  • Work collaboratively with procurement, production, and quality teams to maintain operational flow
  • Keep the stores area clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance stores and warehouse processes
