ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our Glen Innes AgriSolutions retail store is seeking a Store Person / Delivery Driver to join the team on a full-time basis.
You will assist in all areas of rural retailing, including servicing our customer base, counter sales, working in the warehouse area of the store and delivering products to our customers (min. MR licence), with a focus on excellent customer service and safety.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Plan and navigate rural routes efficiently, considering factors such as road conditions, weather, and traffic.
- Loading and delivery of products to customers ensuring that all items are securely fastened and protected from damage during transit.
- Verify the accuracy of the loaded products against delivery documents.
- Ensure on-time delivery of products to rural store locations, meeting established schedules and deadlines.
- Communicate any delays or issues to the Store Manager.
- Additionally, this role will also be responsible for point of sales operations when required, assisting either in store or with sales in the warehouse when not engaged in deliveries. It is anticipated that the role will develop sufficient product knowledge to promote store sales and service when on and offsite.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE?
- Clean MR drivers’ licence and a history of safe driving.
- Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in a delivery focussed role.
- Forklift licence, or willingness to get one.
- Familiarity with local and rural routes and road regulations.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including the ability to lift, carry, and move heavy products and endure long periods of driving.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to schedules.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to provide excellent service in store and during deliveries.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate product loading and delivery verification.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to work productively in a small team.
- A strong focus on Work Health & Safety.
