What you’ll do Inventory Management: Plan and organize stock and inventory, conduct regular cycle counts, and maintain minimum and maximum stock levels to ensure availability and accuracy. Procurement Support: Assist the Procurement Clerk by contacting suppliers to acquire the best prices, ensuring cost-effective purchasing. Receiving and Inspection: Accept deliveries by verifying items against paperwork, rigorously checking quantities and weights, and ensuring accurate documentation is maintained. Safety and Compliance: Manage and control access to store areas including Flammable and Gas Stores, ensure MSDS availability and updates, conduct workplace inspections, and maintain all safety registers and certificates. Equipment Handling: Load, unload, and move goods safely using a forklift; conduct safety and maintenance checks on vehicles and fire equipment, coordinating servicing and recharging as required. Housekeeping and Standards: Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all store areas, adhering to statutory HSE and 5S requirements to support a safe and efficient work environment. What you’ll bring Must-haves: Matric (Grade 12) qualification. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a store person or in a similar role. Valid driver’s license. Advanced MS Office skills with strong Excel knowledge. ERP systems experience Nice-to-haves: Valid forklift license. COUPA knowledge. Why join Weir?
