Robert Graham Ltd., an Independent Whisky Bottler, Spirits Retailer, and Cigar Emporium, is a business steeped in tradition and excellence. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Store & Sampling Lounge Manager to lead our team at the Cambridge Store.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for premium cigars and high end spirits, outstanding leadership skills, and a drive to deliver a world-class retail and lounge experience.

Customer Service & Experience

  • Welcome and engage with customers in a warm and professional manner.
  • Provide expert guidance on whisky and cigars, tailoring recommendations to each guest.
  • Oversee tastings, sampling sessions, and lounge experiences.
  • Foster long-term relationships with regular clients and VIPs

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in retail or hospitality management, ideally in luxury goods, spirits, or cigars.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Excellent communication, sales, and customer service abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of premium whiskies and cigars.
  • Organised and proactive, with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident in managing budgets, order requests, rotas, and store reporting.
  • A personal Licence for sale of Alcohol would be beneficial, but not essential

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods
Responsibilities

As Store & Sampling Lounge Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Cambridge store, ensuring the highest levels of customer service and creating a welcoming environment for both retail and lounge guests. You will lead by example, guiding and developing your team while maintaining our reputation for expertise, heritage, and hospitality.
You’ll balance hands-on customer engagement with the operational and administrative responsibilities required to keep the store running smoothly.
Reporting directly to the Sales & Operations Manager, Our Cambridge Store & Sampling Lounge manager will also work closely with the Marketing Team and Buyer in Robert Graham Ltd to ensure that the Cambridge Store and Lounge is fully merchandised, well stocked, and that any marketing activations or promotions are driven in store.
Please note that our Cambridge Store and Lounge benefits from the Specialist Tobacconists’ Exemption under Section 7 of the Smoke-free (Exemptions and Vehicles) Regulations 2007 of the Health Act 2006, and as such the sampling of cigars and pipe tobaccos is permitted within the store.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

  • Lead, train, and motivate the store and lounge team, ensuring exceptional service standards.
  • Manage staff schedules, performance, and development.
  • Drive store culture by embodying Robert Graham values of expertise, tradition, and customer care.

Customer Service & Experience

Sales & Business Development

  • Maximising both retail and lounge revenue.
  • Implement promotions, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Monitor store performance, reporting results and identifying growth opportunities.

Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain a visually appealing, clean, tidy, well-stocked, and organised store and lounge.
  • Ensure cigar storage and humidors are correctly managed.
  • Placing orders through our centralised ordering processes
  • Oversee stock control, deliveries, and inventory management.
  • Uphold all legal requirements regarding the sale of alcohol and tobacco, including age verification.

Skills & Qualifications
