Job Details Job Location: Stockton, CA 95212 Salary Range: $28.00 - $34.00 Hourly Job Category: Retail As the Store Service Manager, you will lead the service department’s operations, overseeing a team of technicians and ensuring the successful execution of all aftermarket installations and vehicle services. You’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience while maintaining productivity, quality control, and safety standards. This role combines technical expertise with team leadership, scheduling, workflow optimization, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Responsibilities: Supervise and mentor the store’s service technicians across all levels in installations, diagnostics, and repairs Manage daily workflow, assign tasks, and monitor timelines to ensure efficient operations and timely service delivery Conduct final inspections on completed repairs/installations to ensure accuracy, safety, and adherence to company and manufacturer standards Serve as a point of contact for customers regarding service estimates, job status, timelines, and recommendations Ensure a positive customer experience by communicating clearly, setting proper expectations, and resolving concerns promptly Collaborate with sales and parts departments to support customer upgrades and special projects Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work orders, estimates, parts usage, and labor hours Utilize computer systems for scheduling, inventory, diagnostics, alignment machines (e.g., Hunter Hawkeye), and TPS tools Lead initiatives to improve shop performance, reduce turnaround times, and enhance team efficiency Assist with onboarding and continuous training for technicians at all levels Foster a team-oriented environment that promotes skill development, safety awareness, and pride in craftsmanship Enforce safety standards and use of PPE (gloves, glasses, hearing protection, etc.) Ensure team compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and company policies Maintain a clean, organized, and secure shop environment Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in an automotive service environment, including suspension, alignments, and accessory installations Must possess a valid driver’s license with no major violations and have at least five years of driving experience. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record check. Demonstrated leadership skills in a team setting, including delegation, coaching, and problem-solving Working knowledge of alignment machines, wheel balancers, and diagnostic tools Strong customer communication and service skills Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record (MVR check required) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., team lift up to 100 lbs., and perform physical labor in a service bay environment Preferred: Experience managing or supervising a retail service department or automotive shop ASE Certifications and/or technical school diploma Familiarity with Jeep and truck off-road and aftermarket accessories Work Environment: Retail automotive service department with exposure to shop conditions including noise, fumes, machinery, and physically demanding tasks Full-time role; must be available during standard retail hours, including weekends This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
