Description
Under general direction of the Business Admin 3, receives all food stuffs (i.e., dry, fresh, frozen) and equipment (i.e., stoves, mixers, flatware, paper products, etc.) for Nutrition Services; receives (e.g. conducts physical counts, dates tamps items, signs documents to release drivers subsequent to deliveries, etc.); inspects (e.g. checks for correct specifications, compares receivers to purchase orders for accuracy of delivery, etc.); stores (e.g., utilizes FIFO (first in, first out), ensures correct floor clearance for storage, separation of government commodities from other items, etc.); distribution (e.g. check dates of items prior to the issuance of stock, ensures receipt of storeroom requisitions prior to distribution, ensures deliveries made within specified time frames of WDC Storeroom Manual, etc.); makes recommendations to improve efficiencies & cost effectiveness to supervisor. Ensures that storeroom functions are performed in accordance with OSHA, Life Safety, Basic Storage Principles, etc. Conducts routine periodic inventories by time frames prescribed in the WDC Storeroom Manual (i.e., spot checks, physical, etc.); orders supplies based on inventories (e.g. ensures par levels maintained on all food stuffs and supplies, prepares requisition or Request to Purchase Warehouse or utilizes bit process and receives approval from supervisor); Keeps inventory records (e.g., writes receivers, disburses paperwork to appropriate personnel, retain storeroom copy, reports and records discrepancies on receivers and/or invoices, meets with Business Office to discuss problems and shortages and reconcile receivers, etc.); fills requisition forms from houses for supplies Sweeps, mops, removes trash from Central Kitchen and Storeroom. Completes mid-day sanitation of each area. Makes deliveries as requested. Picks up mail as assigned. Ensures security of Storeroom at all times Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions & percentages; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in inventory control. In addition, employees working in a drug central warehouse or storeroom must pass security screen. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
