Description Brattleboro Memorial Hospital / Southern Vermont Health Services Corporation Job Description Job Title: Storeroom Clerk Job Code: 163 Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week) Weekend Schedule: No Holiday Schedule: Some Call Schedule: No FLSA Status: Non-exempt Department Name: Purchasing Location: Brattleboro, Vermont JOB SUMMARY: The Storeroom Clerk coordinates various activities under the direction of the Purchasing Supervisor and provides support to the department staff. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skill, working with both internal and external customers. Under the Supervisor's guidance, expected to review and understand various storeroom functions and foster professional and supportive relationships with internal/external customers. Requires organized, dependable professional with ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail. DEPT. SCOPE OF SERVICE: The Purchasing Department provides five-day coverage Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Purchasing is responsible for ordering, storing and delivering of supplies to all hospital departments by requisitions or carts, and performs other purchasing functions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School diploma. Experience: Minimum two years of experience in a purchasing environment preferred. Current knowledge of various computer software: Microsoft Office, Word and Excel; digital formatting and Web based online systems. Licensure/Certification: None Mental Efforts: Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively. Must have good hand to eye dexterity. Requires keyboarding skills. Must be able to concentrate with multiple interruptions. Must be able to handle multiple priorities. Environment & Working Conditions: Job requires daily interaction with accounting, finance and clinical departments. Frequent contact with vendor sales representatives. Contact with all levels for Hospital staff. Ability to handle multiple tasks for long periods of time; and Frequent computer data entry, inventory reporting and correspondence. Potential for Carpal Tunnel (CTD) due to keyboarding. Requires use of basic office equipment; including, but not limited to: computer, phone, calculator, fax, copier and scanner.
