Description
This position is based out of our Sumter, SC facility. The primary function of this role is to provide manufacturing expertise, support and direction to the Storeroom Team. The Storeroom Team Leader will assist the Storeroom Supervision in the assignment of daily tasks to ensure all material handling processes are completed in an accurate and timely manner and to support our customers. They will play a key role in troubleshooting processes, detractors, identifying process improvement opportunities and working with internal/external customers to meet their required needs. The Storeroom Team Leader is also responsible for providing manufacturing expertise, support and direction to all areas throughout the storeroom process, to increase profitability, align performance with production goals, quality standards and customer service objectives. Additionally, they will be responsible for managing team training initiatives, cross shift communications and promoting teamwork. Manage storeroom daily functions to ensure material is organized, stored safely and that internal/external customer's needs are met in a timely manner. Provide motivation and encouragement to the storeroom team, ensuring that they are continually made aware of all workplace goals surrounding production, safety, and quality. Work directly with the entire production team to ensure that customer orders are executed in a timely and efficient manner and that the most urgent orders are fulfilled first. Comply with and enforce all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Ensure associates assigned work-area is clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards. Provide on-the-job training and develop needs per individual, team and product group. Serve as resource in specific skills training as needed by developing employees in a multitude of areas. Understand the metrics necessary for quality and production by collecting and evaluating production data including cycle counts, receiving on-time, transaction accuracy, dock report, inspection report, etc. Consistently check the quality of materials to ensure that requirements are being met by the supplier. Promote quality objectives among one's employees by clarifying quality standards and goals. Work on projects and special assignments as required. High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution. Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or materials processing experience required. Prior work experience using a computer, including competence in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel). No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter (50 miles) will be considered for this position. Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship Prior experience with AS400, Vista and DMM computer programs. Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment.
