JOB OVERVIEW

The Stores Person plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate stock control, ensuring efficient stores management, and supporting production by providing timely access to materials. This role requires strong attention to detail, a methodical approach, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a stores or warehouse role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Competent computer skills with experience in stock management systems, ideally Sage 200.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Forklift experience with a valid licence.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accurate stock control and order fulfilment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with a strong problem-solving mindset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Manage the receipt, inspection, and booking-in of deliveries, ensuring all stock is accurately recorded and stored in designated locations.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager and Production Coordinator to maintain efficient stock control processes and uphold the highest operational standards.
  • Liaise with the Procurement Team to coordinate goods-in operations and ensure smooth stock replenishment.
  • Accurately pick and pack orders for dispatch, ensuring they meet company quality and presentation standards.
  • Maintain real-time stock records by booking items in and out using the company’s stock management system.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and full stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to handle stock movements.
  • Maintain a clean and organised stores area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving stock discrepancies and shortages.
  • Report any equipment faults or breakdowns promptly to the Production Manager.
  • Adhere to all company health and safety policies.
  • Ensure your work area is kept clean, tidy and free from hazards.
  • Safely handle and store materials, tools and equipment.
  • Attend weekly production meetings.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
