Description

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Adhere to a detailed schedule of collections and deliveries of high cost, goods.
  • Drive safely and expediently ensuring that yourself, cargo and public are not endangered at any time.
  • Maintain contact with the Company ensuring that problems / issues are resolved quickly and efficiently. Ensuring hazardous items received have the correct Safety Data information.
  • Maintain vehicle on a daily basis, checking oil, water, tyre pressure etc to ensure vehicle is sound and roadworthy
  • Liaise with Line Manager regarding the servicing and maintenance for the vehicle.
  • Assist in the loading/unloading of goods from the vehicle.
  • Transport goods received to relevant bays, adhering to the Health and Safety procedures at all times
  • Adhering to rules and regulations within the aviation industry concerning the packing of goods
  • Treat all goods and equipment with due care and attention
  • Meet and greet suppliers and/or customers to goods-in and direct to appropriate contact as required
  • Receive and unpack deliveries into the Company plus packing all items in a controlled area for despatch from the Company
  • Providing accurate and timely responses to enquiries
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures at all times
  • Maintaining high standards of numeracy and literacy when issuing spares to units
  • Stock control for a large store area including maintenance for shelf life items and adhesives
  • Able to lift loads in a safe manner
  • Undertake annual and rolling stock takes
  • Ensuring certification records are up to date
  • Maintain exceptional standards of housekeeping ie keeping floors swept clean
  • Communicate and liaise effectively with all departments
  • Maintain a smart appearance and uniform, representing the Company’s best interests at all times.
  • Develop an excellent relationship with front line customers, providing a professional, flexible and courteous image of the Company at all times.
  • Other duties as required within the skills, training and qualifications of the incumbent

PERSONAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:

  • A clean, full UK driving license is essential.
  • Forklift licences will be advantageous
  • Stores / Goods In experience (preferably 1 year+ experience)
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with all departments across the MEL Group
  • Meticulous attention to detail, methodical approach to work ensuring accuracy at all times
  • Reliability and trustworthy
  • Excellent team worker, with the ability to work alone. Has the desire to succeed as an individual and with the surrounding team
  • Positive approach / attitude to customer service (both internal and external customers)
  • Self-motivated
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach
  • Good administration with numerical skills
  • Confident and calm under pressure
  • Good planning and organising skills with the ability to prioritise accordingly
  • Able to lift safe loads without assistance
