JOB PURPOSE:
To manage the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials, tools, and equipment, while taking responsibility for the procurement of stock and project-specific materials. The role is key to maintaining smooth operations through effective stock control and timely purchasing to support site and office requirements.
STORES DUTIES:
· - Receive, inspect, and log all incoming deliveries.
· - Organise and maintain a tidy, efficient, and safe stores area.
· - Issue tools, equipment, and materials to operatives as needed.
· - Monitor stock levels and conduct regular stock checks / audits.
· - Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained, serviced, and PAT tested where required.
· - Track returnable tools and equipment loaned to operatives.
· - Maintain accurate stores records using digital systems.
· - Manage waste and returns in line with company and environmental procedures.
· - When required, collect materials from and deliver materials to off site locations.
BUYING DUTIES:
· - Raise purchase orders for materials, tools, PPE, and services in line with project requirements.
· - Source and negotiate with suppliers for the best pricing, lead times, and terms.
· - Liaise with site managers, engineers, and project coordinators to forecast material needs.
· - Monitor supplier performance and develop strong working relationships.
· - Ensure timely delivery of orders to site or stores.
· - Process and verify delivery notes and invoices against orders.
· - Maintain accurate records of purchases and stock usage.
