OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Storesperson to join our small team to assist with the operation of our stores department. This is a critical role that can have a real impact on the smooth running of production. Our long serving experienced Storeman is approaching retirement so this role involves gaining an in-depth understanding of our business and, for the right candidate, having the opportunity at some point to take over all main responsibilities.

EXPERIENCE

  • Working in a stores department (ideally in a similar industry)
  • Stock management.
  • Understanding ordering/purchasing procedures.
  • Fork truck experience an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Computer literate.
  • Experience with stock management software an advantage.
  • Any relevant transferrable skills considered.

Responsibilities
  • Issuing and booking out parts from the stores.
  • Assembling kits of parts ahead of requirement for issuing.
  • Managing stock levels and sending orders to Purchasing as required.
  • Taking and signing for deliveries.
  • Maintaining and improving housekeeping in the stores.
  • Fork truck driving, including loading/unloading deliveries/collections and managing large parts storage.
  • Keeping the yard area organised where large parts are stored.
  • Handling some large and heavy items.
  • Assisting with general movements requiring the fork truck.
  • Having an awareness of what builds are current and upcoming.
  • Completing paperwork to meet legislation, including checking part approval numbers.
  • Any other related tasks required.
  • One Saturday per year for stock take.
