We are seeking an ambitious Senior Account Leader/Business Development Manager who will act as a point of contact for the industry in Belgium. In your role as Senior Account Leader for strategic customers in the industry, you will combine industrial knowledge with commercial strength. You will have knowledge to understand the challenges and objectives of the industry and to translate them into tailor-made solutions. You will succeed in analysing and understanding complex market questions and translating them in a clear and structured manner into the internal organisation with which you will develop appropriate quotations (supported by experts and a tender team). In doing so, you will keep in close contact with both customers and internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will proactively identify opportunities to form alliances with strategic partners, leveraging your skills within an industrial environment to present bids clearly and effectively to senior management of client organisations. You will analyse your sector by detecting and sharing relevant trends and opportunities, staying abreast of market developments, and collaborating within an international network that tracks these trends globally. Your responsibilities will involve frequent interaction between end customers and internal teams, requiring adaptability and strong communication skills. While your initial focus will be at the local level, the international scope of Arcadis means you may also engage in cross-border tenders and partnerships. You will actively build, maintain, and expand your professional network within Arcadis, both nationally and internationally, to drive business growth. Role accountabilities: Developing and implementing a growth plan to increase turnover and brand awareness within our business area buildings. Propose marketing activities within the industry, including participation in events, development of blogs and articles, as well as contributing your own ideas for improvement with the aim of lead generation. Creating a plan for each client/opportunity as situations mature, that encompasses the best of Arcadis and positions us as the preferred advisor. Collaborate with the operations teams to manage the targeting and customization of Arcadis value propositions into commercially valuable propositions for each account, demonstrating value-creating outcomes for the client. Helping to develop and design market-oriented materials, giving direction to the pursuit teams so that we can submit the winning offer Managing the pipeline to ensure a continuous flow of valid pursuits to achieve the set goals. Developing relationships within Arcadis to foster collaboration and maximize cross-selling opportunities Develop and leverage a network of sustainable relationships in the market, identify customer challenges/needs and position Arcadis as a trusted partner that solves wants/needs. Ensure compliance with Arcadis business initiatives and metrics, including responsibility for Net Order Intake and revenue delivery, along with excellent customer experience (CX). Qualifications & Experience: 10-15 years of experience as a Business Development Manager within the industry, supported by an established professional network. Degree qualified in a relevant field. You are passionate about generating new business, actively engaging in networking opportunities and events. Experience with consultancy and/or engineering services within the industry and more specifically (construction) related investment projects. With strong listening and analytical skills, you understand client needs and effectively align them with our services, preparing clear and compelling proposals in collaboration with the tender team. A strategic thinker, with the ability to communicate clearly with clients in senior management positions of multinational or large national companies.
