Can you tell me more about what you do at VLSB+C?
Great question! We’re really proud of the work we do. We are the regulator of the Victorian legal profession. We license lawyers and oversee service standards and conduct. This includes handling complaints about lawyers, investigating poor conduct and overseeing management of trust accounts. We are also the stewards of the public purpose and fidelity funds and administer these to support legal regulation and access to justice in Victoria.

THIS IS GETTING INTERESTING, WHAT TYPE OF PERSON ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for candidates with the following:

• Demonstrated experience in providing strategic advice, leadership, information and project delivery in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment to senior leaders and government decision makers and providing generalist operational support
• A proven track record of developing constructive relationships by effectively managing the competing demands of diverse stakeholders, industry bodies, the community and Government and exercising sound judgement, confidentiality and discretion in responding to sensitive and highly complex issues
• Excellent conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to lead the development and implementation of advice for a range of audiences
• A diverse background and / or experience working in different environments, sectors or fields, including in the public sector, would be an advantage.

We’re looking for a Strategic Adviser, Engagement to join our Policy & Outreach team. You will support the engagement work of the organisation, including through the coordination of briefings, coordination of engagement activities, provision of strategic advice and production of communications for external audiences.
