Te tūranga – The role Working with the CEO of the FMA, the Governor of the RBNZ and senior leaders across CoFR agencies, this role provides strategic and operational leadership to drive system-wide thinking on risks and opportunities related to the regulation and effectiveness of the financial system. Reporting to both the FMA and RBNZ, the role shares its time across both organisations You will be: Leading implementation of the outcomes of the recent review of CoFR's effectiveness, including developing processes and frameworks for identifying system wide work streams Advising CoFR Chairs on priorities, including working with agencies to develop business cases for projects and an overarching workplan Leading strategic, forward looking system level reviews to advise Chairs and CoFR on risks and opportunities for promoting of effective and responsive regulation and an effective financial system Monitoring, tracking and reporting on progress of the work plan and CoFR performance generally Supporting Chairs to manage CoFR meetings, e.g. setting agendas, monitoring actions etc Keeping information up-to-date, including maintaining and updating content on the CoFR website Building and managing relationships, influencing and engaging with stakeholders to maximise effectiveness of the CoFR, in alignment with existing agency approaches This is a key leadership position in promoting the effective and responsive regulation and an effective financial system. Ō pūkenga – About you You will be both adaptable and strategic in your thinking and be able to lead both functionally and strategically to ensure shared success. In addition to this you will have: Senior level experience in an analytical or strategic function in a major financial institution, supervisory authority or Central Bank Strong understanding of the financial sector, financial regulation, regulatory stewardship and the policy and political environment in New Zealand Experience leading and delivering complex and ideally cross agency work programmes Proven strategic and system thinking and problem-solving skills, experience with developing and implementing strategy and prioritisation frameworks preferred Success engaging and influencing senior staff and Chief Executives Ko wai matou – Who we are We’re kaitiaki (guardians) of New Zealand’s financial ecosystem – enabling economic wellbeing and prosperity for all New Zealanders.
