THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a driven and experienced Strategic Sourcing Buyer – Consumables & Expendables (C&E) to join AJW’s global headquarters in Horsham. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring AJW’s Group Procurement Strategic Plan is executed effectively within the C&E category.
You’ll manage supplier and category allocations with the ultimate goal of delivering competitive advantage through cost reduction, risk mitigation, supplier performance, and availability.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Develop and deliver strategic sourcing plans for allocated spend areas
  • Provide cost-effective sourcing of parts, using data analysis to reduce acquisition costs
  • Support the supplier consolidation strategy to streamline and strengthen the supply base
  • Draft, issue, and manage RFQs (Requests for Quotation) through to delivery
  • Negotiate and execute robust supplier agreements, ensuring ongoing contract management
  • Monitor and track supplier on-time delivery performance and compliance with pricing agreements
  • Take accountability for supply chain performance and compliance, leading improvement actions with support from subcontract managers
  • Act as the subject matter expert for allocated product groups within C&E
  • Provide bid support to the Commercial team, including analysis of new customer bids and requirements
  • Proven procurement/sourcing experience within aviation (essential)
  • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of supplier negotiation and management
  • The ability to build strong relationships while confidently challenging the status quo
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with data, systems, and automation (e.g. PO creation)
  • A broad understanding of the wider commercial environment and procurement levers
