DESCRIPTION:

The Strategic Communications Analyst serves as the Initiatives Coordinator for the Strategic and Operational Rockets and Missiles (STORM) Project Office under the Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS), providing critical support to the Project Manager’s (PM) strategic initiatives and communication efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years relevant functional experience, or HS and 14 years of relevant experience.
  • Possess and active secret or higher DoD security clearance or have the ability to obtain a clearance.
  • 3 or more years of professional writing experience ensuring proper details, grammar, and style.
  • 2 or more years of experience dealing with the release of information to the public through official channels.
  • 2 or more years of experience supporting, strategizing, coordination and conducting of events and ceremonies for an industry or government organization.
  • 2 or more years of experience coordinating with graphics personnel and other organizations in the development of planning activities in support of special functions and initiative programs.
  • 3 or more years of coordinating between functional areas and leadership of an organization for development/formulation of essential messaging for the entire staff.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and reviews documents for senior leadership, coordinates internal and external communications, and produces news articles for publication in professional outlets.
  • Crafts and delivers key messages to STORM personnel, aligns public affairs content with PEO MS guidance, and ensures clarity, consistency, and style in all public-facing materials.
  • Plans and executes special events that support leadership priorities.
  • Manages communication initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and ensures alignment with STORM’s mission and strategic objectives.
  • Prepares event summaries, briefs the PM and staff on upcoming visits and protocol requirements, and serves as the lead planner and point of contact for all STORM-hosted ceremonies.
  • Designs formal invitations and flyers in collaboration with the graphics team.
  • Ensures comprehensive media coverage and public affairs coordination.
  • Operates under the direction of the STORM Operations Director, demonstrating strong writing skills and a solid understanding of the defense acquisition process and lifecycle.
