Responsibilities

YOU WILL BE MAINLY ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Strategy & Implementation: Define, plan, and execute the global division’s strategy with the leadership team. Analyze markets, segments, competitors, and past performance to manage strategic (organic/inorganic) initiatives that drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Develop actionable plans aligned with strategy and budgets.
  • Market Intelligence & Business Development: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and the competitive landscape. Define global strategies and business plans for prioritized segments. Drive sustainable growth through data-informed decision-making and short- and long-term planning.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Partner with business leaders to identify and evaluate acquisition targets aligned with strategic goals. Lead due diligence, assess fit and risks, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive M&A projects.
  • Performance Monitoring & Executive Communication: Establish and track KPIs to measure strategic initiative success. Create executive-level reports and presentations for ABB’s Executive Committee and Board, enabling data-driven decisions and communicating progress effectively.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure organizational structure, staffing, and capabilities are in place. Foster cross-collaboration and knowledge sharing. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, and partners; represent the company at strategic events and forums.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or Marketing, with 10+ years of relevant global experience (e.g., principal-level roles in top-tier consultancies). Proven track record in business development, strategy, and M&A projects.
  • Understanding of control, drives, and automation markets; familiarity with key technology trends including software and AI is a strong advantage.
  • Strong project management capabilities, high-impact presentation skills for senior leadership, and a proactive, hands-on approach with integrative leadership qualities.
  • Excellent English communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative approach and strong stakeholder engagement. Open to relocation, with support available for qualified candidates.
