Description
Strategic Finance Senior Associate Toronto, In-Office | High Impact | Execution & Ownership Who we are Imagine a world where your birthplace doesn’t limit your dreams. That’s what Passage is here to create. We aren’t just a bridge of financial support; we connect families all around the world to life-changing opportunities. We believe in a future where deserving students can pursue their dreams and ambitions - even if their parents don’t have money. Our mission is bold but simple: by 2030, we aim to dismantle the barriers preventing brilliant minds from accessing the opportunities they deserve. Starting with financial barriers, we’re offering loans to international students and refugees, helping them pursue better education in Canada and unlock a world of possibilities - not just for themselves, but for their families and future generations, too. Who you are We’re looking for a Strategic Finance Senior Associate with 3–5 years of experience in transaction-driven or high-intensity analytical environments. You likely began your career in investment banking, private equity, consulting, corporate development, or a similar setting where you built complex financial models and supported high-stakes decision-making. You are analytically rigorous and commercially sharp. You don’t just build models — you use them to drive decisions. You know how to focus on the variables that matter, challenge assumptions, and translate ambiguity into structured, actionable analysis. You are confident in leading financial workstreams independently. You are comfortable owning a model from blank sheet to final recommendation, presenting conclusions clearly, and partnering cross-functionally to drive execution. You are hands-on and execution-oriented. You are willing to roll up your sleeves, build the model yourself, and operate without a large team behind you. What you will do You will own high-impact financial analysis and special projects that directly influence Passage’s growth and strategic direction. Capital Allocation & Growth Strategy Evaluate new initiatives and growth opportunities through rigorous financial modeling Lead ROI and unit economics analysis across products and markets Support capital allocation decisions with structured financial frameworks Partnerships & Strategic Initiatives Assess and model significant partnership opportunities Develop business cases for new programs, markets, or product expansions Analyze deal economics and long-term value creation Fundraising & Corporate Strategy Build and maintain dynamic financial models to support fundraising efforts Prepare analytical materials for executive and investor discussions Support long-term planning and scenario modeling Special Projects Lead financial workstreams for potential M&A or transaction-related initiatives Structure complex problems and translate ambiguity into clear insights Drive cross-functional initiatives where finance serves as the analytical backbone Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, corporate development, or similar environments Advanced financial modeling skills (three-statement modeling, scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling) Experience leading transaction or strategic analysis workstreams Strong business judgment and commercial acumen Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Exceptional attention to detail and analytical rigor Ready to join us? We’re on a mission to make the world a fairer place, one student at a time. If you’re excited to work hard, innovate fearlessly, and collaborate with a high-energy team striving for global impact, we’d love to meet you. Note: This role is based in Toronto, and requires a five-day-a-week in-office commitment. Applicants must be willing to relocate if they’re not already in the area. Let’s help shape a future where every dream can thrive - no matter where it begins.
