Description Overview: To secure an award, we are recruiting a highly experienced Strategic Initiatives Officer with an active TS/SCI Clearance to drive the development and execution of the organization’s critical strategic initiatives. This role supports senior leadership by aligning enterprise-wide strategies, guiding complex processes, and ensuring the successful integration of projects across the agency and with key external partners. Officers at all levels contribute to strategic planning, process optimization, multinational engagement, and policy implementation, with responsibilities scaled to experience and seniority. The significance of the work: This role is essential to ensuring that organizational strategies translate into measurable operational outcomes. Strategic Initiatives Officers anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and implement solutions that enhance enterprise performance. They provide critical guidance to leadership, synchronize complex activities across divisions and external partners, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. By supporting international engagements, policy analysis, and strategic planning, this position directly impacts mission success, organizational efficiency, and the achievement of long-term goals. The Work Location: DMV area What You’ll Do: Approach work with a strategic, detail-oriented, and mission-focused mindset. Collaborate with government stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and international partners to understand priorities, strategic objectives, and compliance requirements. Conduct research, analyze complex policy and operational information, and synthesize findings to inform decision-making. Develop, track, and implement strategic plans, high-level roadmaps, and governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with internal and external guidance. Prepare executive briefings, reports, and talking points for senior leadership and other stakeholders. Facilitate engagements, workshops, and multinational initiatives, including planning logistics, coordinating meetings, and supporting partner requirements. Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities, proposing actionable solutions to improve organizational effectiveness. Support the adoption of best practices, continuous process improvement, and performance measurement initiatives, with scope and autonomy aligned to experience level. Responsibilities Include, but not limited to: Track strategic issues, action items, and project milestones Support planning and logistics for internal and external engagements Maintain project documentation, databases, and SharePoint sites Draft, review, and finalize policy, guidance, and briefing materials Lead or facilitate cross-functional teams and high-level engagements Advise senior leadership on strategic initiatives, risks, and mitigation strategies Develop and monitor performance metrics for strategic initiatives Mentor and develop junior team members (Senior-Level) Requirements Experience: Junior: 3+ years of professional experience in office support, government, or project/strategic planning Mid: 5–10 years supporting or managing strategic initiatives and international or cross-functional projects Senior: 15+ years leading enterprise-level initiatives, providing strategic advice, and managing cross-functional or international programs Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, Business, Public Administration, or related field. Graduate degree (Master’s or higher) in Strategic Intelligence, Business, International Affairs, Public Policy, or related field, OR 15+ years of relevant experience (senior-level). Core Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint. Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. Knowledge of project management tools, techniques, and best practices Specialized Experience (as applicable): Familiarity with national security, international affairs, or space policy. Experience facilitating executive-level meetings, negotiations, or multinational engagements. Leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional team management experience. Experience translating strategic guidance into operational execution and metrics Security Clearance Requirements: This position requires you to have an active TS/SCI Clearance. A government background investigation will be conducted on selected applicants to determine whether they qualify for access to classified information.
