Emergent Risk International (ERI) is seeking to hire a full-time Strategic Intelligence Analyst to be embedded with one of our clients. Candidates for this role are experienced intelligence analysts using acquired formal tradecraft training to research, write, edit, and publish analytic reports and present formal briefings. The successful candidate will have previous strategic intelligence experience, and both flexibility and desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on threat and risk intelligence analysis, physical security and investigations and due diligence.

Experience:  The right candidate will possess most or all of the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience minimum in private sector intelligence analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in intelligence, national security, geopolitics, journalism, security studies or other related fields. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting executive travel, event and location risk assessments.
  • Experience in all hazards risk assessments.
  • Demonstrable experience in social media threat analysis, physical security threat and vulnerability risk analysis (data center experience a plus).
  • Excellent writing, editing and analytical skills.
  • Training experience, particularly on writing and the tradecraft of intelligence analysis.
  • Experience with OSINT tools including Everbridge VCC as well as workflow tools like Asana and the Google suite of products.
  • Excellent, proactive communication skills - particularly across virtual platforms.
  • Ability to work quickly and address deadlines on time.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when needed and the maturity and self-discipline to maintain a sustainable schedule
Responsibilities

CANDIDATE WILL WORK IN A HYBRID CAPACITY GOING INTO A LOCAL CLIENT OFFICE TWO OR THREE DAYS PER WEEK AND SHOULD BE LOCATED IN LONDON OR WITHIN COMMUTABLE DISTANCE. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE ROLE.

We help our clients assess risk to their organizations; whether that risk emanates from geopolitics, security threats, economic forces or regulatory initiatives that may impact bottom-line revenue or threaten personnel and company assets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a strategic intelligence analyst for all products and services to assess and mitigate security, economic, geopolitical and regulatory risks to the client’s assets, operations, workforce, brand and reputation.
  • Serve as an editor and quality control for all products and deliverables for a globally-deployed team, with editorial experience including demonstrable experience in qualifying and grading sources, controlling for bias, analytical editing, copy editing and providing editorial feedback to colleagues.
  • Conduct strategic threat assessments utilizing formal intelligence tradecraft techniques and producing written reports presenting scenarios and options for security decision-makers in differing threat environments.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate and analyze open-source intelligence including thinktanks, social media, local media, NGO reports and other datasets to identify business risks.
  • Conduct in-depth location risk assessments for critical operations and data centers, providing actionable intelligence and mitigation strategies for identified threats and potential risks to the business.
  • Demonstrate expertise in partnership with Global Security Operations Centers (GSOC).
  • Develop an expert understanding of the client’s business model and asset locations, ensuring that all intelligence and reporting is tailored to the client’s specific needs.
  • Brief senior executives and stakeholders on key analytical products and findings.
  • Proactively identify business-relevant strategic intelligence topics to propose to management.
  • Continuously evaluate the utility of existing program tools and identify potential new tools to strengthen team’s work and fill intelligence gaps.
  • Develop and implement SOPs, style guides, tooling and workflows to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of deliverables.
  • Support training, coaching and mentoring of new analysts in partnership with ERI training programs.
  • Become an expert in all of ERI’s products and services to ensure appropriate client uptake and train newly hired embedded analysts on ERI’s Situation Room portal.
  • Other administrative and programmatic tasks as required.

Working Hours:  Role is a standard business hours position; however, as a member of a global team, the successful candidate will be required to work some early mornings or evenings to attend meetings or calls in other time zones. Remuneration:  This role will be a full-time (40 hours per week) salaried position. Pay will be commensurate with experience.
