REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Economics, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in pricing strategy, commercial planning, or market access in a healthcare, diagnostics, or medtech environment.
  • Direct experience working with or selling to the UK NHS and/or private healthcare markets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing pricing models for complex clinical services.
  • Strong understanding of UK histopathology market dynamics and competitors (e.g., Source Bioscience, Backlogs).
  • Experience with tendering processes, NHS procurement structures, frameworks, and grant applications.
  • Track record of commercial negotiation and stakeholder engagement, especially with procurement officers and health service managers.
  • Deep commercial and financial acumen, including margin analysis and pricing optimization.
  • Strong ability to translate clinical services into value-based pricing frameworks, such as RCPath point-equivalents.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining comprehensive pricing matrices across multiple service lines.
  • Exceptional communication and persuasion skills, particularly in supporting NHS and private sector bids with cost justification and ROI narratives.
  • Understanding of clinician compensation dynamics and how they relate to case complexity, quality, and retention.
  • Skilled in strategic marketing thinking to support positioning, bid design, and market differentiation.
  • High degree of detail orientation and analytical thinking, especially in financial modeling and scenario analysis.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • This role owns the pricing architecture, margin strategy, and go-to-market positioning for all UK market services including NHS, private, and consultant-led services.
  • It combines strategic marketing thinking with deep commercial acuity, ensuring Diagnexia maximises its competitiveness and profitability within the UK histopathology market.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and implementation of UK-specific pricing models, ensuring all Diagnexia offerings are competitive against the competition
  • Translate Diagnexia’s complex services into RCPath point-equivalent pricing to support NHS Trust procurement processes.
  • Develop and own a UK-wide pricing matrix for routine, urgent, consult, digital, and wet-work services.
  • Engage directly with procurement officers and grant managers to support commercial discussions, joint bidding exercises, and tender writing.
  • Drive the optimization of pathologist compensation vs case complexity to safeguard Diagnexia’s gross margin while ensuring pathologist satisfaction and retention.
  • Provide strategic marketing input into NHS and private sector bids, including cost justification, ROI narrative, and partnership design.
  • Training required for the role, may include ISMS, GLP, DocuSign and GDPR awareness.
