THIS IS A FIXED TERM POSITION UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2026.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Planner to join the Housing, Building and Land Delivery (HBLD) Group.
The role involves contributing to the development of plans and related strategic initiatives for activity centres. You will work as part of a professional team in close collaboration with the Activity Centres Program, the Department of Transport and Planning, and other government partners to deliver integrated planning solutions. These plans will take a whole-of-government approach, incorporating transport, community services, open space, and key infrastructure. The position also includes engaging with a variety of stakeholders to reach shared outcomes on planning matters, supporting the implementation of government policy by promoting housing diversity and employment opportunities near public transport and existing services.
The ideal candidate will contribute to the preparation of activity centre plans and associated planning scheme ordinances. They will engage with government agencies, councils, developers, and other key stakeholders through consultation and negotiation to resolve issues. The candidate will support place-based and task-based workstreams, assist with technical investigations and provide actionable recommendations, and prepare high-quality conceptual and technical drawings and plans. Additionally, they will be flexible to undertake any reasonable tasks requested by the Activity Centre Program Director.
