JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for a commercially minded and motivated Strategic Print Buyer & Estimator to join our Estimating team! This is a hybrid role based at our Harlow head office, with occasional travel to suppliers and industry events.

ABOUT US

Harlow is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of print management and fulfilment services to both the private and public sectors. We cover all aspects of a product’s journey, from design, sourcing, and print, through to finishing, stock management, and distribution.
Our central focus is exceptional customer service, and we have a proud 75-year history of delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions to a wide range of clients including the NHS, local authorities, schools, and private sector organisations.
We are evolving our business to include more print management and supplier-enabled delivery, investing in technology and supplier partnerships to give customers more choice, flexibility, and value.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE:

As a Strategic Print Buyer & Estimator, you’ll play a key part in producing accurate, timely estimates for both in-house and outsourced print jobs, while developing and managing a strong supplier network to support our print management strategy.
This role blends estimating expertise with strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management, giving you the opportunity to shape how Harlow delivers competitive, quality-led solutions through our supplier management platform.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Producing accurate and timely estimates across print, mailing, fulfilment, and related services.
  • Determining the best production route: in-house vs. outsourced, to deliver best cost, quality, and service.
  • Sourcing competitive supplier quotes and negotiating commercial terms.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with approved suppliers.
  • Onboarding and managing suppliers within our supplier management platform, ensuring compliance with quality, sustainability, and security standards (ISO, FSC, PEFC).
  • Monitoring supplier performance against KPIs, addressing issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Staying up to date with print industry developments, pricing, and production innovations to inform sourcing strategies.
  • Supporting the estimating team in adopting new tools, workflows, and supplier-focused approaches.
