In addition, we also encourage everyone in our team to build their brand and profile both within our national rail team and externally with our varied government and private sector clients.   To support our growth, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Strategic Rail Planner based in Perth, to fill an identified gap in growing client-side rail and public transport planning business, including all aspects of scheme business case development such as operations, transport interchange design, engineering advisory, rail network planning and strategy development. The nominated individual will report to the Strategic Rail Planning lead, and work closely with our national Strategic Rail Planning team.   The key responsibilities for this role include: * Work within a high-performing and successful team delivering public transport and freight rail planning projects, mostly for the WA market. * Have the opportunity to lead integrated multi-disciplinary project teams, including technical rail operations and planning, engineering advisory, transport demand modelling, and broader transport planning and economics. * Engage regularly with clients and stakeholders to identify and shape opportunities related to public transport planning and develop action plans to win work. * Lead bids for public and private clients, both in WA and nationally. * Guide the performance of the team to meet client outcomes, deliver tangible benefits, and maintain profitability. * Interface closely with our WA advisory, planning and mobility teams to identify wider collaboration opportunities to support our transport clients. * Support and mentor staff to undertake development activities helping them realise their potential. * Lead and foster a good safety culture to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff. * Contribute to reach the targets of the WSP’s 2022-2024 national Strategic Rail Planning Strategy, from a WA perspective. * Support commercial and operational performance metrics.   If you have a passion for managing / delivering transport projects, we’d love to hear from you.   We will discuss how to tailor the role to your unique skills and personal goals. As a guide, the relevant skills and qualifications you may bring to the role include: * Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Planning, Project Management or equivalent. * Achieved or be eligible for industry accreditation/registration, such as: * Chartership with Engineers Australia * Being a Registered Planner with PIA; or * Project Management AIPM or PMI certification * Minimum of 5 years of relevant post graduate experience. * Broad experience in leading transport planning projects, especially at the strategic level to help public and private clients to shape their future networks. Experience working with our key clients PTA and METRONET is highly desirable. * Knowledge and experience in business case development process in Australia, especially in WA. * Ability and willingness to bring new businesses to the company, by maintaining and developing a professional network in WA, as well as preparing outstanding bids for clients. * Excellent technical writing skills, with extensive experience authoring planning reports, proposals and technical papers. * Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines in a dynamic environment.   BENEFITS   We are striving to lead our respective markets globally and are looking for people who share that aspiration.
