Description
We’re looking for individuals that want to be on the ground floor of breakthrough technologies and help build a world class sourcing team. As a Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM), you will be responsible for developing the key strategic relationships with critical electro-mechanical suppliers (in particular Battery SIP, Cell, and Pack) including supply planning, part costing, and supply chain management. This role is dependent on close collaboration with the peer Battery Strategic Sourcing Manager, Hardware Engineering, Program Management, Product Operations, and other cross-functional teams. During the product sustaining and production phase, you are responsible for ensuring the suppliers are prepared to support the on-time product delivery at specified quality, and yield parameters and are prepared to meet the ramp quantities. It is the Strategic Sourcing Manager's primary objective to ensure suppliers meet or exceed commercial and technical requirements throughout the life-cycle of our RL product(s). Responsibilities Own and manage MR Battery Cell and Pack for sustaining programs and Wearables Battery SIP for both sustaining and NPI programs Collaborate with the US Battery Cell Strategic Sourcing Manager to provide regional support for Wearables Battery Cell. This includes supporting both existing (sustaining) and new product introduction (NPI) programs Work with Supply Base Engineering and our CM partners to avoid and resolve any potential part shortages or quality problems which are affecting production schedules Institute programs to optimize supply chain flexibility while minimizing excess inventory exposure Own the ramp plan, ongoing production plan and forecast, tooling qualification schedule and tooling life for all designated suppliers Support Battery SSM team by effectively project managing and performing supply planning analysis and validation (e.g. CTB) and implement supply planning actions with our supply chain partners Drive tactical, project management, and due diligence initiatives (e.g. tracking progress, actions, & deliverables, maintaining supplier documents) Create and maintain central databases necessary for the Battery SSM team and maintain the team's database update to bigger organization’s platforms Execute NPI support processes and support supply chain related programs/processes (e.g. BOM management) Negotiate various agreements as needed with suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, operations and/or business 3+ years experience in sourcing or related disciplines in electro-mechanical or battery including elements of the cell and pack (i.e., raw material, cell, pack EE BOM, etc.) Experience in technology and supplier evaluation/selection, should cost models, contract negotiations and supply base management Leadership, program management, and cross-functional teamwork experience Experience communicating with and influencing all levels of management Experience formulating contingency plans to de-risk technical challenges, long lead time, single source, and any supply issue Advanced engineering degree and/or MBA Experience with high volume, consumer electronics products Mechanical or EE engineering background and working experience with battery designs Experience managing suppliers with factories in China and Asia
