Description

The Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing Group at Meta Reality Labs (“RL”) is seeking a Memory Global Sourcing Manager to drive impact and deliver results in highly innovative RL devices. This position will focus on leading one of the most strategic categories in sourcing. The scope includes identifying, selection and development of long-term partnerships for new products and new technologies through early engagement across cross-functional partners, aligning external partner strategy to internal product roadmap needs, and to deliver best in class components and modules meeting Meta product requirements at the right time, at the right speed, and at the right cost. An ideal candidate will have high ambition to grow with Meta. You must be a high energy/impact individual who thrives in a high-demand and fast-paced environment and successfully navigate through ambiguities/difficult obstacles through facts & data, evaluation of alternatives, open-mindedness, thought-through strategy, and superior communications. Leading cross-functional organizations through sourcing activities will be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the consumer electronics, semiconductor or tech industry and experience scaling technologies, having taken a component or module or system from concept stage into mass production
  • Experience articulating points of view with executive management and executes plans
  • Experience working embedded with hardware and systems engineering throughout product development process of technology products
  • Experience building relationships with engineering, product management, and other cross-functional partners and drive discussions around optimization of technical specifications, and features versus value trade-offs
  • Experience building and influencing relationships at suppliers’ executives level with a holistic view on supplier’s core offerings enabling future collaboration in new/uncharted technology domains, to consolidate leverage for Meta
  • Data-driven problem-solving skills to address multi-dimensional problems with high levels of uncertainty across multiple functional teams
  • Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should cost models, contract negotiation and supply base management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with high volume, consumer electronics products
  • Sourcing experience in custom mechanical parts, assemblies, and modules
  • Experience with managing CMs, ODMs, OEMs
  • MBA or Master of Mechanical Engineering
Responsibilities
  • Conduct global market landscape memory analyses, leveraging 3rd party memory analysts, supplier information and personal research and partner with commercial and technical cross-functional stakeholders to recommend the right partner technology decision matrix to take advantage of market pricing opportunities through advanced purchases or Long-Term Agreements
  • Continually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into the Meta supply chain
  • Actively engage and influence new technology exploration, collaborate with cross functional partners on creating a long-term Technology Roadmap mapping closely with Product Roadmaps, and advise/recommend to the executive team a clear partner/supplier strategy
  • Develop and drive technology partner engagement strategy ensuring suppliers meet Meta’s current and future technical and business requirements
  • Partner and work with a cross-functional team to drive the supplier selection process (own RFx) and component qualification both under strict engineering and commercial best practices/disciplines
  • Actively participate in aiding to solve technical and operational challenges along with cross-functional partners, to keep product launch schedules on track
  • Execute second source qualification, alternate materials/process evaluation/quality, and other cost reduction initiative at the material/manufacturing level
  • Be an expert in commodity technology, cost and supply. Command of technical cost reduction concepts to both product and category level
  • Drive Early Supplier Involvement initiatives to ensure our suppliers are proactively providing input into new product designs and future product roadmaps
  • Drive product cost and negotiate competitive pricing while keeping in mind the total landed cost
  • Formulate contingency plans to de-risk technical challenges, long lead time, single source, and any supply risks
