JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

Position Summary
The primary role of the Strategic Sourcing Manager is to lead strategic negotiations in the HCA Enterprise and to be the Subject Matter Expert in all areas of category strategy development, negotiation and Vendor management of various healthcare information technology categories.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to collaborate with Business Leaders around the complete sourcing cycle to ensure HCA is employing world class cost management processes in the acquisition of multi-Million-dollar purchases while mitigating risk to the organization. The position will consult in the development, implementation, and on-going management of technology Agreements and Vendor relationships.
This position requires high ethical standards, business acumen with constant attention to detail to drive activities of internal and external resources to successful completion of agreed upon objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of contracting principles, vendor management, and product/service sourcing.
  • Experience in leading negotiations with an understanding of contract implications and total cost of ownership in delivering world class healthcare IT products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with experts from many healthcare specialties effectively as a team member, coordinator, and facilitator.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create or interpret financial models to identify trends and patterns in vendor bids, financial data, operational reports and recommend proper course of action.
  • Requires expertise in Request for Proposals process, pricing and contracting benchmarking analysis, and identification of future negotiation opportunities.
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in Word, Outlook and Excel to support the development of executive level presentations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Teamwork, attention to detail, and customer service orientation required.
  • Flexibility in working in different systems and being able to move from one task to another.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree Required
  • 5+ years of experience in relevant work experience. Required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Licenses, Certifications, & Training:

  • Certification by AHRMM, IACCM ISM, and/or NCMA preferred but not required. Preferred
