Description
The Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Development Engineering Organization at Meta is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to support product categories with high potential for sustaining human connection at scale. This position will focus on supporting one of the most strategic technologies. This will include managing a global supply base, managing supplier relationships, defining the category and supply base strategies, management of engagement and related contractual execution activities. An ideal candidate will have high ambition to grow with Meta. You must be a high energy/impact individual with a demonstrated ability to succeed in a high-demand and fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate through ambiguities/difficult obstacles through facts & data, evaluation of alternatives, open-mindedness, thought-through strategy, and superior communications to lead cross-functional organizations through sourcing activities will be required. Responsibilities Develop sourcing strategy ensuring suppliers are capable of meeting Meta’s current and future technical and business requirements Partner with cross functional teams to enable the supplier selection process and component qualification Continually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into the Meta supply chain Drive early engagement activities to ensure our suppliers are proactively providing input into new product designs and future product roadmaps Drive forecasting and commodity supply management at supply chain partners through the product life cycle Demonstrate site leadership by organizing internal and supplier resources onsite and leading the daily supplier sync meetings Manage strategic and business relationship with suppliers partnering with US functional SSM leads and be the primary focal point for escalation of major issues onsite Collaborate on value engineering activities onsite with cross functional teams to enable cost reductions at suppliers Formulate contingency plans to de-risk supply challenges, long lead times, single source situations, and any supply gaps Work closely with US functional leads in supporting aggressive should cost initiatives and validating costs at suppliers as required Be accountable for securing components and/or services in the above category that will provide competitive advantage in both technology and cost for Meta Support Total Cost Reduction program to ensure the lowest possible total cost, including product cost, transportation cost, inventory cost, and cost of quality Manage E&O (Excess and Obsolete) for components through the product life cycle •Solid communication skills with ability to deliver key messaging (netting it out) and escalations to leadership Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, operations and/or business Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing, operations and or business-related positions Extensive knowledge and experience in consumer electronic components supply chain and cost structure Experience and knowledge working with suppliers in the Optics, Cameras, Camera sub- components, Projectors Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should cost models, contract negotiation and supply base management Ability to build trusting relationships with engineering, product management, cross functional teams and supply chain partners to manage trade off and drive supply at the sites Experience in financial statement analysis to derive should-cost models and cost competitiveness/financial strengths of suppliers, as well as gathering market intelligence Experience articulating points of view with executive management but execute plans when directed Ability to travel extensively on short notice up to 50% Master’s degree in engineering, business or technical discipline Experience managing factory ramps and strategic relationships with module and optics suppliers Passionate about opportunities to establish new approach to sourcing Relentless drive and passion to overachieve with a collaborative mindset while working though trade off with cross functional teams Demonstrated ability to think strategically but detailed oriented to support ideology with facts and data
