Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Manager (Raw Materials)
Client Partnership: We have partnered with a successful manufacturing company seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to be a strategic contributor, establishing processes and operations integration of sourcing within supply chain management.
Role Overview: The primary purpose of this position is to develop and execute sourcing strategies that will optimize supply chain operations with an emphasis on sourcing strategies to vendor sources, first and secondary providers, and drive cost savings. This individual should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.

ESSENTIALS:

  • 7+ years of experience within procurement in the nutritional supplement industry
  • Proven track record in achieving cost savings and enhancing supplier portfolios through effective sourcing.
  • Working knowledge of HTSUS and CBP Operations in relation to import and export restrictions
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Solid business judgment
  • Ability to understand and articulate the total value of a deal or negotiation
  • MRP/ERP experience required
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Finance
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred
  • Direct experience with raw materials used in complex formulations in the health and wellness industry, such as high-performance fitness products, powders, supplements, minerals, cosmetics, and or other related consumer products.

Responsibilities
  • Procurement Strategy: Develop, implement, and continuously optimize the company’s sourcing and procurement strategy to align with overall business objectives.
  • RFQ Management: Lead the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, including preparation, evaluation, and award recommendation based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate long-term contracts with key suppliers, focusing on supply continuity, cost stability, and risk mitigation.
  • New Product Sourcing: Collaborate with R&D and Product Development to source new ingredients and materials to support innovative pipelines.
  • Supply Risk Management: Identify alternate sources for all SKUs; where dual sourcing is not viable, develop robust risk mitigation plans for single-source ingredients.
  • Forecast Management: Manage monthly forecasts required by supplier contracts by integrating inputs from sales forecasts, historical data, and new product development plans.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor and analyze industry and market trends to anticipate shifts in supply, cost, and availability, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Supplier Development: Identify, assess, and develop key suppliers to meet cost, quality, compliance, and service objectives.
  • Supplier Diversification: Expand and regionalize the supplier base to improve supply chain resilience and availability during disruptions.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to reduce lead times and increase operational efficiency.
  • Data & Analytics: Establish KPIs and dashboards to support data-driven decision making and enhance procurement performance visibility.
  • Cost Management: Drive cost-saving initiatives and align sourcing strategies with the company’s financial goals and budget targets.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams including R&D, Quality, Sales, and Operations to ensure cohesive planning and execution across the supply chain.
