SUMMARY The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be highly motivated and assist the company in creating strong relationships with suppliers and maintaining existing relationships. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist’s responsibilities include sourcing goods, materials, and services at competitive prices and advising upper-level staff members on which suppliers to contract with. They should be able to maintain and update the supplier database and find alternative suppliers if the existing ones are unable to meet their obligations. To be successful, they will be able to collaborate with all departments to ensure that costs remain within budget. A high-performing sourcing specialist should be able to develop and implement innovative ideas to enhance sourcing strategies. PRIMARY DUTIES: Lead efforts to source suppliers and develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with new and existing suppliers. Collaborate with the Planning Department on inventory optimization strategies and cost savings opportunities. Research and obtain quotes from different suppliers. Negotiate agreements including price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure all contracts related to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation. Assess quotes and compile detailed assessments of cost breakdowns. Generate quote comparisons and contribute to internal supplier selection based on the quotes. Provide recommendations and solutions to improve company expenditures. Maintain Souring Data, create, analyze and maintain reports. Collaborate with the Quality Department to qualify suppliers, measure performance, and regularly re-evaluate supplier ranking. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain or related field. Established experience in sourcing roles/processes. Prior experience with an HRIS database preferred. Understanding of sourcing methodologies. Strong negotiation skill and experience. Strong time-management and organizational skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as superior interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Must have an excellent attendance and work record. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Must be physically capable to perform the above duties with or without reasonable accommodations. Education, Training & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain or related field. Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial company preferred.
