You’ll work closely with central and local government agencies, commercial customers, major suppliers, developers, and other strategic partners to strengthen connections and drive collaboration. Your expertise will help position Watercare as a trusted, independent leader in the sector. He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role You’ll work closely with our Strategic and Government Relations Manager and Head of Strategic Relations to: Coordinate and manage strategic relationships across government, regulatory bodies, advocacy groups, and industry partners. Provide advice and support on stakeholder engagement for key projects and initiatives. Track and report on stakeholder interactions, trends, and issues. Organise site visits and events to build understanding of water and wastewater services. Act as a point of contact for escalated issues from strategic stakeholders. Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you We’re looking for someone who: Has excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills. Is agile and adaptable in complex environments. Can simplify complex information and present it clearly. Brings strong emotional intelligence and resilience. Ideally has experience in stakeholder engagement, government relations, or communications. Political acumen and knowledge of the NZ water industry are desirable.
