Job Description About the role As a Strategy Analyst, you will play a key role in establishing and sustaining competitive advantage and maximizing value capture across the Carousell ecosystem. Your primary mandate is to translate complex market dynamics and customer behavior into clear, executable business strategies that significantly improve unit economics and operational profit. Key Responsibilities This role is centered on generating critical business intelligence and creating analytical models across two primary strategic pillars: Market Dynamics and Value Positioning 1. Market Dynamics & Strategic Forecasting Commercial Intelligence: Systematically gather, interpret, and model market and competitor trends, behavior, and strategic movements across our key categories Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and assess emerging market categories and new growth opportunities. Analyze historical evolution, market sizing, and competitive entry to recommend strategic focus areas Cross-Functional Synthesis: Act as the lead analyst to coordinate and synthesize data inputs from Sales (on-field intelligence), Category, and Data teams to ensure our strategies are grounded in comprehensive market reality 2. Customer Value & Strategic Positioning Value Proposition Analysis: Lead the analytical assessment of our product/service value proposition relative to the competition. Support the development of models that map our business based on perceived value against cost/price Customer Pricing Insights: You will design studies to understand what drives customer decisions, how sensitive they are to price changes, and what their willingness-to-pay is for different features and services Monetization Benchmarking: You will regularly compare our product features, value-adds, and monetization models against the competition to inform product development and strategic positioning. Data-to-Strategy Translation: Translate deep analytical insights into compelling, strategic narratives and clear recommendations for Product, Marketing, and Sales teams, ensuring new features and communication align with high-value customer needs Qualifications Experience: 2+ years of experience in an Analyst role (e.g., Strategic Analyst, Business Analyst, Market Analyst) where you were responsible for modeling complex business scenarios, analysing pricing and driving data-driven recommendations. Analytical Acumen: Proven ability to work with large, unstructured datasets, perform advanced statistical and quantitative analysis, and build sophisticated business models. Commercial Intelligence: Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and maintain commercial intelligence frameworks to identify strategic opportunities and risks. Strategic Thinking: Proven capability to translate raw data and complex analysis into clear, concise, and actionable strategic outputs for senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Tools: Proficiency with analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Python) and business intelligence/visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). Experience in a digital platform, e-commerce, classifieds, or tech company with a focus on monetization and unit economics. Familiarity with value-based frameworks, segmentation, and profitability analysis (e.g., gross profit share analysis). Experience in a role that required influencing product roadmaps or sales strategy based on quantitative findings.
