Description

ABOUT US

Hysata is on a mission to accelerate the shift from fossil fuels to green hydrogen with the world’s most efficient electrolyser. Our breakthrough capillary-fed electrolyser achieves an unprecedented 95% system efficiency (41.5 kWh/kg) – a step change from incumbent technologies, which typically sit at ~75% and already ahead of International Renewable Energy Agency’s 2050 target. This leap in performance enables a radically simpler system design, slashing both energy use (opex) and system and renewables capex.
Hysata’s innovation has captured global attention, including publication in Nature Communications and support from leading strategic and financial investors such as bp, POSCO and Vestas. With over 100 team members, we’re a high-performing, purpose-driven company, proud to be 35% women, representing 20+ nationalities, and united by a shared mission to enable the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors such as steel, chemical manufacturing, shipping and aviation.
Having secured Australia’s largest ever cleantech Series B raise of US$111 million, Hysata is scaling rapidly to bring our technology to market. With strong customer demand and a clear path to manufacturing at scale, we are on track to become a global leader in green hydrogen and put a major dent in global emissions.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Strategy Analyst to join our team. This dynamic, multi-disciplinary role reports to the Chief of Staff and Head of Investor Relations, and sits at the intersection of strategy, communications, and execution. This is a hybrid role – expect to be on-site at our Port Kembla site on average two days a week, with flexibility to shape a schedule that works for you.
You will work across Hysata’s government engagement, investor communications, non-dilutive funding strategy, and strategic market analysis – helping us raise capital, tell compelling stories, and enable analysis-driven decisions in a fast-changing environment of a scale-up.
This is a generalist role with high visibility, frequent interaction with the executive team, and broad exposure across the business. It demands excellent communication skills – you’ll be synthesising ideas internally and representing Hysata externally, working with stakeholders ranging from engineers and finance teams to PR consultants, grant assessors, and Ministerial advisors. We’re looking for someone who is humble, curious, can structure complex problems, work iteratively, learn quickly and get things done.
You might be writing a compelling pitch for an investor presentation or a grant one day, then building a financial model for green ammonia market analysis the next, or preparing a CEO briefing pack on market developments. There’s room to grow, autonomy to take ownership, and an opportunity to help shape the strategy of one of Australia’s most exciting cleantech companies.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct market, policy, and competitive analysis to support Hysata’s strategy – e.g. customer and competitor tracking, use case assessments like green ammonia
  • Develop high-quality communication materials – including grant submissions, investor decks and due diligence materials – working closely with technical, product and commercial teams
  • Contribute to government engagement by analysing and drafting responses to policy and regulatory developments in collaboration with external advisors and lobbyists
  • Drive Hysata’s PR and communications calendar – plan what we say, when and why, and coordinate posts (e.g. LinkedIn) and media releases to align with strategic goals and amplify our impact
  • Support and occasionally represent Hysata externally – attending meetings with government, investors, media, or partners when appropriate, and preparing briefing materials
  • Own and drive non-dilutive funding strategy – identify opportunities, lead the development and submission of new grant applications, with input from the executive, coordinating inputs from teams across the business.
  • Oversee compliance and reporting for existing grant projects (close to AU$40million portfolio), including
  • Contract negotiation and variations;
  • Delivering knowledge sharing obligations;
  • Internal coordination to meet funding milestones and reporting deadlines;
  • Engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders – from internal experts and execs to external PR consultants, grant assessors, and government advisors – representing Hysata with clarity and professionalism
  • Monitor global developments across hydrogen, clean energy, and manufacturing, distilling insights into clear updates that inform strategy, communications, and positioning.
